I'm Jim, a designer and musician based out of the Southeastern United States. Over the last two decades, I've collaborated with a broad range of organizations, businesses, and artists to develop and support their branding. I'm an avid believer in creative work that is effective and timeless.
About
Jim Stephens was raised in rural South Carolina. A love of the arts and music led him to Francis Marion University, where he received his B.A. in Visual Arts with a focus on Graphic Design and Art History. He began his career as a freelance graphic designer in 2005, partnering with a variety of non-profit organizations and businesses. These partnerships eventually led to full-time job opportunities in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.
Some of his design work has included non-e-commerce and e-commerce sites, branding, product packaging, museum exhibits, billboards, trade show displays, clothing, product manuals, print catalogs, and more. Jim is equally proficient in designing for print as he is in designing for digital. His skillset also extends to front-end web development (Wordpress and Shopify), SEO, PPC, photography, and videography.
When not working as a designer and front-end developer, Jim has also earned a living as a professional musician and music educator. As a guitarist of over 30 years, he has had the fortune of collaborating with a variety of artists, including Donnie Mortimer, Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves), Griffin House, Gerry Leonard (David Bowie), Michael Tudor (Moby), Tres Altman (The Paper Stars), The Troubadors Collective, Tyler Edwards, and Neil Hampton (Grey Sound).
