Fontana Forni USA Catalog

Fontana Forni is one of the world's leading manufacturers of stainless steel outdoor pizza ovens. In 2016, I was hired by Tuscan Imports' owner, Kirk Laing, who was the Italian brand's North American distributor, Fontana Forni USA. I fulfilled the roles of senior designer and manager of SEO and PPC. One of our early objectives was to update the Fontana Forni product catalog. Our goal was to provide a concise catalog to educate potential dealers and customers about the company's line of stainless steel pizza ovens.

I collaborated with our company and Fontana Forni Italy to gather technical information on the product and photo assets that could be used in the layout of a revised print catalog. When provided with outdated product imagery, I digitally altered the images using Photoshop to reflect the current product revisions of our oven inventory. I also authored the catalog's copywriting and utilized other members of our team for proofreading to ensure the body copy was accurate and free of grammatical errors.

Kirk, the owner, specified that the catalog needed to be smaller in size to serve as a practical takeaway for tradeshow attendees and to help reduce mailing costs when the catalogs were sent to our dealers. I designed a 16-page catalog with a 5.5" x 8.5" page layout using InDesign. We employed Sheriar Press of Myrtle Beach, SC for the catalog printing, where I handled print quotes, deliverables, print proofing, and the payment process for our company to see this project through to completion.

Tuscan Imports / Fontana Forni USA was one of the best companies I've worked for to date. We had a great crew that worked well together for the benefit of the company. I was able to complete a variety of print design projects pertaining to both the company's Italian pottery products and outdoor pizza oven products. I really enjoy the aesthetic and pragmatic problem-solving of print layout design for brochures, catalogs, and books. The feedback I received from my boss and our customers was that these printed materials were the best we had ever offered as a company.
